As a protest against the increasing commercialisation of Pride events across the UK, queer activists in Glasgow have organised a Free Pride in the city on August 22. The day begins at 2pm at The Art School on 20 Scott Street, Glasgow. There’ll be poetry, films, performance and, despite some recent controversy around whether drag acts are transphobic, the organisers are keen to create a safe space for everyone with gender neutral toilet options and wheelchair accessibility throughout the venue. We’ll be there. It would be nice if you’d be too.
